Our English department strives to be a welcoming and nurturing environment for all to learn English. At YIA, we strive to instill greatness, which is evident in our English program.

Students learn the fundamental skills of academic writing, such as essay and research writing at the highest post-secondary levels. Public speaking is a staple of modern society and teaching students how to be confident in front of a crowd is important to us.

 Being a good public speaker is something every York International Academy student will learn during their tenure, and they will become confident members of society. Making sure they can write convincing arguments and citing their work is a must and this is something we make sure no student forgets. A student should have a wide knowledge base, and this comes from reading literature.
